Amplified Music Festival Traffic Management Plan

Keeping disruption to local traffic a minimum

The plan is designed to ensure disruption to local traffic is kept to a minimum, although some delays are inevitable with the increased levels of traffic on the roads.

The main route for festival traffic from the direction of Cheltenham will be along the A40 continuing over the roundabout signposted Oxford.

They will then be instructed to turn right along the restricted usage road...sign posted Lodge Park towards the festival car park entrance 2 and then directed to either Weekend or Day parking areas.

The main route for festival traffic from the direction of Oxford will be along the A40 where they will then be instructed to turn left off the A40 along the restricted usage road... sign posted Lodge Park towards the festival car park entrance 3 and then directed to either Weekend or Day parking areas.

The main route for festival traffic from the directions of Cirencester and Stow will be along the A429 taking the 3rd and 1st exits (respectively) off the roundabout. They will then be instructed to turn right along the restricted usage road (signposted Lodge Park) towards the festival car park entrance 3 and then directed to either Weekend or Day parking areas.

It will be instructed that the ONLY traffic travelling through Northleach will be that of Ease Of Access ticket holders and Artists from ALL directions. This will keep the traffic travelling through the village to a minimum so as to avoid any major disruption to the local residents.

ALL heavy equipment bearing lorries are to reach the Amplified Festival Site via the Lodge Park Access route. This will mainly be several days prior to Friday 21st July and the following Monday 24th July.

Lodge Park and all other affected residents will be informed and times allocated for such traffic movement.

If car park entrances are slow moving or blocked

As a contingency if either of the two main entrances to the car parks (2 and 3) are temporarily blocked the end access gate (4) can be opened to allow for example Cheltenham, Cirencester and Stow traffic to use gates 2 & 3 with London traffic thereby using gate 4.

Or gate 4 being opened thereby allowing London traffic to use both gates 3 & 4 with Cheltenham, Cirencester and Stow traffic the continued use of gate 2.

This will allow traffic heading to the site to continue to flow so as to alleviate any congestion and keep the traffic moving down the road past Lodge Park.

If an incident occurs on any of the roads being used by festival traffic, there are a number of options that can be considered by the event organisers along with the council also having arrangements in place to divert traffic around the highways network if necessary.

Amplified Rocks Ltd will be keeping residents up to date with routine traffic information and details of road closures and diversions, while the council will provide updates about those council services affected by the festival.

Gloucestershire Constabulary will provide security and safety updates.

Messages will be shared via social media and local media.

Right of way access along the main routes

Amplified Music Festival would like to remind people that most roads will remain in use as normal other then the restricted usage road...signposted Lodge Park which will only be open to one-way traffic for those attending the festival with them having the right of way during the hours of 09.00am – 13.00pm when it is hoped most attendees will have arrived within these times.

After 13.00pm the residents will assume the right of way along this route thought the access will now be two-way.

We hope that all involved will make sure the event runs smoothly, with the minimum amount of disruption to residents and to the army of volunteers who will help throughout the event.

It’s important to stress that for the duration of the festival, Northleach and the surrounding villages and hamlets will be open for business as usual, and we at Amplified would strongly encourage members of the public to continue to support local shops and other businesses during the event, along with those attending the festival during the weekend.

It is to be noted that ALL routes to and from the festival site will be clearly signposted so as to help those attending make their way to the relevant areas that their ticket(s) allow access to and from.

ALL routes and junctions will be manned with stewards giving those who require them, directions to and from the festival site from the hours of 08.00am through to 03.00am or when the admission and exit gates have closed and all those attending as day ticket holders have left the site.

Itis hoped that the conditions outlined above will lead to the smooth flow of traffic around the entire festival site perimeter and that of the surrounding area so as to avoid any unnecessary delays not only to the festival attendees, but most importantly the local residents and their visitors.

Stay up to date with changes

Residents mean while are encouraged to look at the dedicated festival pages on amplifiedrocks.com which contain important information about the road closures and diversions, including access to and through Northleach along with any changes to council services, as information becomes available.

The council asks that residents where possible plan their routes to avoid the designated festival traffic routes on the Thursday, Friday and Monday of the event – when traffic volumes are assumed to be their highest.
